Sandra Dennison is the Regional Center Director of the Small Business and Technology Development Center at WCU and UNCA. She is a third generation entrepreneur having owned, operated, and sold two businesses in Western North Carolina. With this experience she has been able to learn first- hand the challenges and rewards that come with owning and growing your own small business. Sandra’s career includes over 20years in retail management with 10 of those years specific to the spa industry. She has
spent time in the outdoor recreation service industry, marketing and branding, fundraising and community event management. While in event management Sandra was awarded for exceeding community fundraising involvement and chosen to lead social media and communication efforts for the Southeast division of the AmericanCancer Society. In 2012, she was recognized as the “Young Entrepreneur of the Year”,awarded by Western Carolina Universities College of Business. Sandra holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Entrepreneurship with aCommunications concentration and a Masters of Project Management both from Western Carolina University. She proudly serves on the Advisory Counsel for Growing Outdoors, SparkTank, and for the Asheville Downtown Association. She currently serves on the board for WNC MedWeek, and a member of the Family Business Forum at UNCA. |
