Valeria Watson has lived in the WNC area for 16 years and has most recently joined Coldwell Banker King as a real estate broker.
As a Board member of Asheville Sister cities she established Asheville's African Sister City relationship with Osogbo, Nigeria and garnered two Gates Foundation Grants of $100,000 each.
Valeria currently serves on the Asheville Historic Resources Commission, the Asheville Public Art and Culture Commission and oversee's her own non-profit which has been in existence since 2000, Zamani Refuge African Culture Center. Recently, she was honored to be one of 50 regional artists included in the opening of the Asheville Art Museum's Appalachia Now! Exhibit.
Valeria has a BA in Art and a MA in Theatre Arts from Columbia University, NY and identifies as a gamer nerd girl who loves watching her partner 1frog9 stream on Twitch. She has traveled extensively in Europe, Mexico, Nigeria, Kenya, Morocco and is excited to step into her new role as a Realtor with Coldwell Banker King.
She is familiar with the fact thatt Western North Carolina is steeped in historic traditions concurrent with the trending needs of the millennial buyer like social justice and green initiatives.
